About Kangaroos

Kangaroos are marsupials found only in Australia. They carry their babies (called joeys!) in a pouch on the mother’s belly for about 8 months. The red kangaroo is the largest — males can reach 2 meters tall and weigh 90 kg, with leaps over 9 meters! Kangaroos can’t walk backwards because of their thick tail. They live in groups called “mobs”. Fun fact: a baby kangaroo is born the size of a jellybean and crawls into the pouch to grow.
